They had the (Will) to catch both sea monsters at the same time

Today we had a farther and son team Howard and son Harrison from Frank land Tennessee out for a little 4 hour fishing trip that turned into a fishing trip of a life time. We started out kite fishing with 3 live baits and one dead bait all suspended from the kites. We also sent a shark bait to the bottom along with another shark bait half way down.

We started out catching a Mahia Mahia than soon after that we caught another Mahia Mahia and than yet another when all of a sudden all hell broke lose when our bottom rod bent over and line was coming off the reel as if their was a fright train on the other end.

Harrison jumped in the chair and the fight was on. When I say the fight was on really all Harrison could do was to hold on the rod while this monster on the other end just kept taking the line out.

After a good 5 min of watching the line peel off the reel the fish finally slowed down a bit and Harrison started to gain a little. But soon after that once again the line went back to coming off the reel. After 15 min of this Harrison needed a little rest so dad jumped in the chair to lend a hand.

Bare in mind while all this was going on we still had baits suspended from the kites. All of a sudden I noticed a big wake heading for the shark bait we had suspended from the kite. I yelled down at J.J. to watch out something big was headed for the other bait. This fish I got a look at and it was a BIG and I do mean BIG hammerhead shark and BAM just like that we had 2 sea monsters on at the same time.

(Fishing hours of boredom interrupted by moments of panic and chaos)

Now we had our hands full!!

We kept Harrison on the first fish we had on and Howard jumped on the big hammerhead. After 15 more min of this the lines were getting close to each other and we were sure the 2 lines were going to cut each other. But J.J. thinking quick on his feet he went under one rod with the other and some how we were still Hooked Up.

Finally we got a glimpse at Harrison’s fish and we put the heat on him. Once J.J. got a hold of the leader there was no letting go. We had a bull shark hooked in the side and he was not happy about it. J.J. tried to get the hooks out of him but needless to say someone was going to get hurt so he cut the leader as close to the shark as he could and off he went. Ok one down and one to go. Finally 35 to 40 min later Howard had this monster Male hammerhead shark to the boat.

By the time we got him to the boat the shark was tired and had calmed down. We were able to slide him through the tuna door for a couple of pictures a quick measurement to have a replica trophy made of him got all three hooks out and watched him swim away in good shape to fight again another day.

Did I forget to mention that their last name was Will? And trust me it took all the Will they had to catch these fish.

Guy’s thanks a bunch it was a blast and this was one of those fishing trips I will remember for a long time.
